It’s Time to #Listen2Workers

Workers Share Their Stories

#Listen2Workers

#Listen2Workers is a campaign from EPIC in partnership with SEIU CA, BlackECE, Caring Across Generations, Southern Economic Advancement Project, State Innovation Exchange (SiX), and allies that is focused on the stories of workers—their lives, struggles, hopes, and ideas for change (see the Spotlight on Poverty profile of the campaign).

Through videos, forums, and written pieces, we aim to help elected officials connect with workers by doing the most powerful thing: listening—an approach underscored in this Newsweek op-ed.

From fast food and care workers to security guards, gig workers, and others, Californians and workers across the nation are speaking up—it’s time for leaders to show up and listen.

Meet Our Legislators

Take Action & Sign the Pledge to #Listen2Workers

Through videos, forums, and written pieces, we aim to build shared power between state legislators and workers—caregivers, cashiers, cooks, farmworkers, and any other blue-collar workers— starting with the most powerful thing: listening.

Along with our partners at the State Innovation Exchange (SiX), we invite state legislators to join our campaign by signing the #Listen2Workers pledge:

  • I pledge to listen to workers and the working communities of America.
  • I pledge to introduce legislation directly connected to the workers’ needs
  • I pledge to record at least one interview with a worker in my community
  • I pledge to share the #Listen2Workers campaign with my colleagues

Once signed, the #Listen2Workers campaign team will follow up to help coordinate and promote your interview and to provide technical assistance towards shared policy goals.

Tell Your Story

Your voice matters. Whether you’re a caregiver, cashier, cook, or any other blue-collar worker, your story helps shine a light on what working people are experiencing, want, and need.

Share your story on social media and use the hashtag #Listen2Workers. We’ll find it and lift it up as part of the movement for change.
